Grass Finished Beef
Grass fed is the traditonal old-fashioned way of raising livestock. We don't believe that the old ways are best in all
situations but we are convinced that grass fed beef is much healthier in our diet than grain finished beef. Cattlemen switched to finishing
cattle on grain over the past 50 years to fatten them more quickly and to a greater degree. The North American diet is high in the wrong kinds of
fat and deficient in vitamins, is undoubtly linked to the high incidence of cancer, heart disease and obesity and many other ailments in North
America.
Our cattle are finished on high quality pasture and produce meat that is:
- high in the good fats (conjugated linoleic acid--CLA and omega 3 fatty acids.
- high in vitamins A & E
- chemical free no growth hormones or antibiotics
- processed at a local provincial inspected plant, Renard's Meat Services Virden, Mb
- hung for 21 days, as opposed to the industry standard of 6 days which will make it more tender.
